Recent holidays

Here's some Christmas decorations Joel & I made out of eggs - this was really fun. Especially blowing out the egg.
Joel in his outfit from Carnival. He had a whale of a time!

Pablo & Joel having a good time with the new Wii from Christmas.

And Lucas taking a turn at boxing with the Wii ...

Trip to Athens

Joel & I were in Athens last December. I had a meeting there and since Joel has been asking to go with me on some of my trips, we took advantage of a few days to go together. We had a wonderful time. It's been a while but I couldn't get the pictures downloaded from my cellphone (good thing I had it with me - our camera broke on the trip).

The last remaining 16 columns of the original 100+ of Zeus' Temple

To give you an idea of their magnificent stature, here's Joel next to one of the columns!

Another view of Zeus' temple

Hadrian's Entry Gate - easy to imagine horses and chariots riding through ...

Athens was especially beautiful at night ...

A little R & R

It's not all work and no play for the BBF. As you can see, we like to enjoy our free time ...
Whether at home or out with friends!

Lucas recommends Baja Beach for a bit of fun with his friends - but only after he has finished his studies and his job. That's right, Lucas is now the soccer coach at his old school! Joel likes going to Traç to indulge in his creative bent. And both Pablos are faithful to their weekly football matches, as you can see by the picture above.

Barcelona

Rumours have it that we live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world!

For those of you who have not had the pleasure yet, here's a quick tour around this eccentric, voluptious place called Barcelona. We hope to see you here some day!

Here's a view of Barcelona from the top of Montjuic - with family included!

One of Pablo's favourite Sunday strolls is down the Ramblas. This is a nice long street that's great for, well, rambling ... Have a look at what you might find - 'human statues' included!

Our First Post

Welcome to our Barcelona Branch of the Family Blog

This is the BBF's first posting. The Barcelona Branch of the Family is going to keep this blog for all of you who want to see what's going on in our lives. We miss everyone across that big mud puddle called the Atlantic and this is our small way of trying to stay in touch. Please add comments and send us emails with your news too!

First we're going to show you a few of the things of our daily lives. Let's start with Joel.

Here's a picture of Joel with some of his friends from school. And another one on a school visit to the planetarium (looking a bit mischievous, I must say). While we're at it, this link will take you to his school's website. By the way, Joel is growing up! He goes to school on the bus with his friend Tommy now. Want to see his route? Click here and then click "veure recorregut 3D" on the right. You will have to wait a few minutes while it's loading.

And what about the rest of us? Melinda and Lucas both spend a lot of their time at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Melinda teaches at the Faculty of Education and Lucas is in his first year of studies in Pyschology). Uff! Tempus fugit (or was that, as Pooh always says, Tempus doth fidget ...)!

Here's Lucas with his dad, before starting his classes of course!

Pablo hopes to start studying script-writing soon - he's still waiting for the results of his last exam - more updates on that soon!
